Client: West Suffolk Council
Stage: Concept Design

The Apex is a 4000m2 award-winning multi-use venue designed to excellent acoustic standards.

In 2010 Sasha was the project director responsible for the MEP design. The public building is tempered entirely by open loop reversible water to water heat pump. Ground-source heat pumps are used to provide heating and cooling to the building and is delivered via radiators, underfloor heating and air-handling units.

In 2022 mstep delivered a review and proposed an upgrade of systems to enable The Apex to achieve further substantial reductions towards net zero operational carbon.

By replacing existing systems with new more efficient equivalents, a reduction of carbon emissions of the site can be expected up to 30% compared to the current levels.
