Little Angel Studios serves as the nearby studio, rehearsal space and puppet workshop for the Little Angel Theatre in Islington.
mstep assessed the potential for decarbonisation strategies with the focus on reducing emissions from heating by improving the overall building performance and installing a ground source heat pump.
These measures will reduce carbon emissions by over 63% with a reduction in running costs of up to 37%.
The implementation of a new heating system alone reduces the emissions by over 50%, simply by removing the consumption of fossil fuel.
mstep also proposed the implementation of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery units in the main performance rooms. This is mainly to guarantee outstanding air quality without incurring energy penalties, and whilst ensuring maximum energy efficiency.
