Stage: Tender

Drayton Park Primary School underwent a substantial refurbishment in 2012 that included double-glazed windows to part of the school and a new heating plant. In 2021, the building is already underperforming thermally and mstep, together with Genius Energy Lab and NDA Consultancy, have carried out a Decarbonisation Feasibility Study in support of securing the funding to provide the school with further improvements to the envelope, a new BMS system, LED lighting throughout, and a substantial replacement of the boiler plant with the Ground Source Heat Pumps.

By adopting all proposed decarbonising measures, predicted savings would be in excess of 50% for energy and 60% for carbon emissions.

Power Up North London is a local community energy group working to assist public sector building operators in securing funding for decarbonisation of their buildings. PUNL engaged mstep to provide technical advice for decarbonisation feasibility studies for a number of sites in North London including Drayton Park Primary School.
